How To Take a Screenshots on your PC ?

Screenshots of your pc or any device is needed when you are facing problem related to computer and you are asked the screen shots of the problem by the advisior.Take an instance, you are filling an online form and there is a problem in form submission which opens pop-up box saying submission failed due to a particular reason or bla-bla, then you submit the screenshots of the dillemma to the one who is concerned. There are various ways to take the screenshots on your computer whether pc windows or mac, and edit it further and save. Here are given the procedures for windows and mac computer and also there are some other unique ways to take the screenshots.

Taking screenshots on windows computer

  • You see the 'prt sc (print screen)' key on your keyboard as shown above in the picture. If you want to take the shot of whole screen then, press it. It has taken your shot.
  • If you want take particular area of the shots then press 'ALT'+ 'Prt Sc'. Note this will not work on every computer.
  • Now open the photo editing software like paint (recommended) and make the white canvas big enough by dragging the point and paste the taken screenshots by clicking 'Ctrl'+ 'V'.
  • Modify the picture as accordingly and save the file in any format.
  • Taking screenshots on mac computer

    You can take entire screenshots or just a portion of the screen by dragging, the printed file automatically saved in your computer.

  • Press Shift-Command (⌘)-3.
  • Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.
  • To take the shots of a portion Press Shift-Command-4. The pointer changes to a crosshair.
  • Move the crosshair to where you want to start the screenshot, then drag to select an area.
  • When you've selected the area you want, release your mouse or trackpad button. To cancel the selection, press the Esc (Escape) key before you release the button.
  • Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.
  • Screenshots are saved as .png files on the desktop in Mac OS X v10.6 and later. They're automatically named "Screen Shot date at time.png."
  • Another Alternative Method

    You can also take the screenshots if you have some software installed on your pc. One such software is CyberLink YouCam. This not only take screenshots but also record screen video.
    If you have a screen recording video, you can record screen as video and play it on VLC Media Player. Pause the video where you want to take the shot, click on 'video' on top menu and click on 'take snapshots'. This is very easy way.
