Hacker News users are in a bit of a tizzy over a recent drawing of the campus forum.
Users at the university forum drew a giant, round-about path of the University of Waterloo.
But a couple of other people have pointed out the path is much shorter than it appears, so perhaps it’s just a typo.
We reached out to the university to ask for clarification.
Here’s what they had to say.
This is a standard drawing of a university discussion forum, but the actual path is actually more like this: https://t.co/Xf0rD8k0Zf — Waterloo Region University (@wurrenews) August 24, 2018While the university has no problem with the drawing, it’s unclear if there was a mistake in the original drawing.
In the meantime, users at the forum are taking to Twitter to complain.
One user said:This is just ridiculous!
What are you going to do?
It looks like a real university forum.
If you really want to draw a circle, draw a square, but don’t add a big loop around it.
This is the same circle with an extra loop that is visible in the drawing.
Another user said this:What the heck is wrong with the circle?
Its supposed to be the circle of the university, right?
I mean, what circle would be better than the circle with loops?
This is a circle with a loop, it is a real circle.
If this is not a real place, there’s no point in drawing a circle.
