The University of Central Florida is currently recruiting for its first-ever internship program for students interested in getting a foot in the door of the world of academia.
As part of the initiative, students are encouraged to write about their experiences in a number of topics and submit an internship proposal.
Students can apply to any UCF campus for their internship, but the University of Florida is the first to offer a limited number of spots, and the first location to offer an internship program to students from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia.
In the United States, UCF’s internship program will be open to students who have earned their undergraduate degrees and are currently enrolled at the university.
In Australia, UCG will open its internship program in early 2019.
UCF is offering the program to its undergraduate students in four geographic areas: New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago.
It will start with one internship per student, but additional spots will be available through a lottery, with the first 10,000 students awarded spots.
As with all of UCG’s academic programs, UCFs internship program is open to anyone who is currently enrolled, and students who do not already have an internship will be required to take a one-week leave of absence.
UCFs internships are expected to last two weeks.
Students who do the internship will earn $150 and are expected not to return to UCF until the internship is completed.
The program is a first in the United State, and will likely provide an excellent opportunity for new UCF grads to network with UCF faculty and other UCF alumni.
Students will be able to choose from a variety of topics, such as their interest in writing, research, and/or teaching, as well as their preferred topic of study.
UCG said that they will be hiring for their next round of interns next month.
The UCF Summer Internship Program is also expected to expand to include a second year of student teaching opportunities, and an internship in the department of English.
UCFF students have been invited to apply for an internship with the UCF Department of Communication, according to UCFF spokesperson Dan Smith.
UCFS’ internships will last for two weeks and the internship program begins on September 1, 2019.
