A couple of years ago, I wrote an article on the best and worst ways to send emails for the NCAA Tournament, and it’s been a top-notch read.
And I’m not going to waste any more time trying to explain it.
First, here are the three best ways to do it.
Then, there’s a third.
I’ve used those three ways for years now, and they work equally well for most teams.
Here are my picks.
If you’re not a blogger, here’s the short version: email the school, preferably the one you’re talking to.
Then ask the coach.
Then do what you’re doing for the rest of the season.
If that doesn’t work, you can always ask a fan (or your friends and family).
I’ve seen this with many teams in recent years.
If you have questions about any of these methods, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] and I’ll get back to you.
But, for the most part, these are the methods I’ve been using to help our schools get into the NCAA postseason.
So here’s my advice for you, my loyal readers.1.
Ask for a date.
The first rule of emailing a college basketball program is to ask the team for a specific date, no matter how far in advance.
That’s why, even if your school’s schedule calls for them to play a team from outside the country, they can still send you an email the next day.
The reason this works so well is because you’re giving the school a window to schedule and play a game that could potentially influence their NCAA Tournament odds.
If you ask a school to schedule a game with a local team, they’re more likely to play it, so the NCAA will see that the school has been doing everything they can to get into an NCAA Tournament.
If they’ve not, the NCAA has a hard time keeping tabs on them.2.
Ask the coach to send you a photo.
I know you’re probably thinking, “This is not going away anytime soon.
Why would I even want to ask?”
And you’re right.
But you don’t have to.
If your school has a photo of the coach holding the trophy after the game, you’ll probably be able to tell if you’ve gotten the message that you’re in for a treat.
You can also ask the players to send a photo to you if you get a tip about it.3.
Make an effort to contact them in person.
When it comes to NCAA Tournament tickets, it’s not enough to just ask the ticket agent to let you in on the date and the game you want to attend.
You also have to make an effort in person to get in touch with the school.
If the school can get you in touch in person, it means the school is paying attention.
If they don’t, you’re going to have a hard shot at getting the school to actually get you a ticket.4.
Get in touch ASAP.
There are a few ways you can get in contact with the NCAA.
If a team sends you an e-mail or an eerily-shaped note, you should probably try contacting them in a similar way.
You’ll be able tell if the school really wants to talk to you and help you out.
If not, you could end up missing out on the chance to win a game.
If that’s the case, you may want to check with your team.
If the school doesn’t respond immediately, you’ve got a good chance they’re doing something shady with your email address.
Just a few minutes after you start sending an ee-mail, try the following:You might think, “Hey, I’ll do it again.
I know it’s a newbie’s problem.”
But this time, it may not be.
A quick Google search will show you the school’s email addresses and phone numbers.
Just go to their site and try to call.
The NCAA has to give the school at least one day’s notice before contacting them, and if they don, it can take as long as 24 hours.
Call the school if you have to wait.
You don’t want to wait for the day you have the best shot at winning a game to get your school in the Tournament.
So when you’re at the game and you’re having to wait around for your school to get their tickets, ask if you can call them.
If your school calls, it will be a lot easier to find tickets for the next game.
You may have to ask for a phone number first, and that’s fine.
If, however, the school phone number is already on their site, it won’t be much easier.
You don’t need to tell them what you want them to do.
