Rangana Herath said he had not thought about the impact of the match on his team’s morale.
“I’ve not had any thoughts, I’ve just got to get on with it,” he said.
“Hopefully it will go well and we can win the series.”
Sri Lanka’s team was beaten by Sri Lanka in the last ODI at Lord’s.
Sri Lanka were reduced to four men for the match and their only run in the opening 45 minutes came in the 50th over when Neesam Khan was taken off the field on a stretcher.
Sri Lankan skipper Neesampath Phadke said Sri Lanka had a tough match and would have to get through it.
“This was a hard-fought series, but hopefully we can go through this,” he told the BBC.
“We’ve just had to work very hard and get a win.”
